Original Details
The Marie Antoinette extra wide panniers will be constructed at 46 inches across the top of the panniers. Length measures 36 to 38 inches from waist to hem length. The hemline measures over
120 inches sweep circumference. These panniers are HUGE.
Ribbons under the panniers hoop cage can be pulled tighter to make the front and back flatter and the sides wider. When the ribbons are not tied, the panniers become rounder ,while maintaining the oblong shaping. The panniers are constructed with 5 lengthy hoops of half inch spring hoop steel in double folded casings that shape the panniers. The front and back centers are flat while both sides extend out. The panniers are made from heavy decorator weight cotton .
The Marie Antoinette Panniers or side hoops are women's undergarments worn during the eighteenth century. Panniers/side hoops extended the width of the skirts at the side while leaving the front and back flat. This provided a flat panel where boldly scaled woven patterns or rich embroidery could be seen very vividly. The style originated in Spain during the 17th century. By mid-eighteenth century it had been developed into the robe à la français, which ensured that a woman took up three times as much space as a man and always presented very dramatic, imposing spectacle. At their most extreme, in the French court of Marie Antoinette, panniers could extend the skirt several feet at each side.

Sizing details
Showbelles items are all custom made, and made to order. All listings have the needed measurements in the descriptions. Please see the list below for sizing.
1. I make all sizes from 34 bust to 52 bust for women.
2. For men, I make all sizes from 38 shoulders to 52 shoulders.
3. I can also make childrens' sizes from a size 7/8 and higher.

Care instructions
Some of my custom items are washable in cold water with biodegrable detergents like Woolite. some of my custom items need dry cleaning.
1. Any item made from pure silk will need dry cleaning.
2. For polyester and poly blends, I highly recommend dry cleaning for holding the crisp new look. some polyester garments can be cool water hand washed. No dryers. Lay flat to dry. Very warm iron.
3.Cotton and cotton blends can be handwashed cold water. Cool dryer or tumble dry on very low heat setting. I highly recommend dry cleaning because all of my custom items are special occasion.
